Privacy & data handling
Wearable data is health data. We treat it accordingly — and where possible, we simply never receive it. This policy covers this website (wearablereports.com), the Wearable Report Lab service, and the marketing tools operated by Plotbench, including our use of the Pinterest API.
The free readout: your file never leaves your device
The five-metric readout runs entirely in your browser. Your export is read locally, parsed locally, and the statistics are computed locally. It is not uploaded, transmitted, logged or stored — there is no server involved in the analysis, which you can verify in your browser's developer tools (network tab: no requests after page load). Closing the tab removes everything.
Paid reports: consent, process, delete
- No accounts. You buy a report, upload one file, receive one PDF by email. We hold no profile on you.
- Explicit consent at upload. Because wearable exports are health data (special category data under UK GDPR), we process your file only on your explicit consent, given by an unticked-by-default checkbox at the point of upload. Article 9(2)(a) UK GDPR is our lawful basis, alongside Article 6(1)(b) (performing the contract you've just bought).
- Automated processing only. The pipeline is fully automated: parse, compute deterministic statistics, generate the narrative, render the PDF, email it. No human reads your data. The analysis model receives aggregate statistics only — never your raw nightly records.
- Deletion after processing. Your uploaded file is deleted from the processing server immediately after your report is generated — retention is minutes, not days. The generated report is emailed to you and the delivery copy is purged on a short cycle. We keep no copy of your data or your report thereafter.
- No sale, no sharing, no advertising use. Your data is used to produce your report. That is the complete list.
Visiting this website
wearablereports.com is a static website. We run no analytics, set no cookies, and embed no trackers or advertising — the pages you are reading make no requests to any third party. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages; Cloudflare, as our hosting and content-delivery provider, processes visitors' IP addresses and request logs transiently in the ordinary course of serving and securing the site (our lawful basis is legitimate interests in operating a secure website). We do not receive or keep browsing records about you.
If you buy a report, checkout is handled by Gumroad, an independent payment platform, under Gumroad's own privacy policy. From a purchase we receive only what delivery requires: the licence key and the email address the report is sent to. The report email itself is sent through our email delivery provider, acting on our instructions as a processor.
Our marketing on Pinterest (Plotbench Pinner)
Plotbench promotes its own products on Pinterest using an in-house scheduling tool called Plotbench Pinner, which connects to the Pinterest API. In plain terms, here is everything it does and does not do:
- It operates only on our own Pinterest business account. The tool authenticates to our account via Pinterest's OAuth and uses the
boards:read, pins:readandpins:writepermissions — that is, it reads the boards and pins on our own account and creates or schedules our own marketing pins there. Nothing else. - It collects no personal data about anyone. It does not access any other Pinterest user's account or profile, does not read, collect or store personal data about Pinterest users, and does not track anyone on or off Pinterest.
- It sells and shares nothing. The only data the tool handles is the content of our own boards and pins, plus the account credentials it needs to operate, which are stored securely and belong to us.
- Your activity on Pinterest is between you and Pinterest. If you view, save or click one of our pins, that interaction is governed by Pinterest's own privacy policy, not this one. We receive no personal data about you from Pinterest.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. In practice, because we delete your data after processing, there is usually nothing held to access or erase — but you can exercise any right, or ask any question, via the support address on your receipt. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
What this service is not
Reports are an educational analysis of your own device data. They are not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for a clinician. If a report flags a pattern that concerns you, the right next step is a conversation with a healthcare professional, taking your data with you.
Who we are
wearablereports.com, Wearable Report Lab and Plotbench Pinner are operated by Plotbench (also trading as Plotbench Studio), which is the data controller for the processing described on this page under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
